Starting your weight loss journey is not the easiest thing in the world to do. It comes with many obstacles that can sometimes challenge our strength. It takes 20 days to create a habit, so let us find out how to make this journey your best!
Never Give Up!
Is it hard for you to begin your new weight loss journey? Maybe you have the exercise part down, but cannot seem to let go of those fries! Or, on the other hand, maybe you cannot find the time to exercise and eat right. And of course, there’s always that pesky worry about paying a lot of money for a gym membership unsure if you’ll actually commit to going or not. Some of us seem to always find ourselves in the gym at the beginning of a new year, but stop once February hits. Entering into a new journey always comes with difficulties, but everything is possible with perseverance. Here are some helpful wallet-friendly tips that will help you along your journey!
1. Write Down your Goals
Writing down your goals in your journal serves the purpose of keeping you accountable. It is important to set realistic goals. There is no healthy way to lose 10 pounds every week, so remain honest with yourself. Start with maybe two pounds and view your progress as the weeks continue. If you reach your goal, then it is okay to challenge yourself more! As you write down your weekly goals, create monthly goals, and then, even yearly goals! For example, what if you want to fit a certain dress or suit by the end of the month? Or, maybe you want a new summer look! Nonetheless, writing these goals increase your motivation and accountability.
2. Create a Schedule
Creating a schedule is imperative! We all have busy weeks and find it stressful to fit in time to exercise. Here is a tip: Always make your schedule on Sunday.
Sundays are usually rest days and a breather before getting into another hectic week. You most likely won’t be going out, so you’ll have more time to plan and budget out what you need to for the week. Literally, write each day down to its entirety. After this, separate an hour in the day that would be perfect to workout. Always leave this hour open and use it 3-4 times during the week to work out for at least 30 minutes. Sunday is also the perfect day to meal prep. There is no need to go out during your lunch break when you can bring food to work! By reducing the amount of times you’re eating out, you’ll have more money to put towards your meals and other weight loss needs. Make your meals for the week, at least two! Sometimes we tend to get bored of eating the same thing every day, so, this way you can intertwine between the meals. Do not be shy to leave a blank spot for your cheat meal…only make it one day of the week!
3. Do NOT stay in bed, get up!
No, everything is not going to be easy, but that is why this is a journey! When it is time to work out, force yourself to get up! Staying in bed or watching TV will only limit you from reaching your goal. PUSH YOURSELF! Lazing in bed may save you money but it won’t help your goals either. Even on the days you are tired, do not be discouraged. Look at your goals and do not forget how far you have come! Remember to always love yourself along your journey. Results will not come immediately but they will show gradually. Be in love with the person you are and continue to push toward the person you aspire to be! Life is a stage and you are walking into your next level! Success is a marathon, not a race!
